Gratitude Challege day seven

Another beautiful fall day today!! I have absolutely tons to be thankful for and believe me I am but today I want to take the time to be thankful for my Granny. She is my only living grandparent that I have left. I don't spend nearly as much time with her as I need to. It is so hard, she is also 2 hours away. When we go home for a visit, the weekend is normally jammed packed with things to do. Most of the time, she will come to my parents to see us but I should really make the effort to go see her more and take her out to do something fun. She is getting to where she can't get around good anymore and that in itself should make me want to get her out some before it is not possible any longer. She is such a beautiful woman and she has raised 4 beautiful daughters and one son, Wow!! I hope one day I can let her read this post. I hope that she knows that although I am not there as much as I would like to be, I love her very, very much. I think she is a truly special and wonderful Granny. I hope to have her a part of our lives for many, many more years. I am thankful for her love she has shown me over the years. I love you Granny today, tomorrow and always.

Atlanta friends introducing......

http://www.meetup.com/The-Learning-Groove-at-Atlanta-Kick/

I've been doing some research on playgroups here in Atlanta. I am really interested in meeting local Mommy's, making new friends and meeting new friends for miss Zoe along the way. I came across this fun class that is going to be offered soon. It looks like so much fun and unfortunately I work so I can't enroll Zoe in the classes right now. No worries, I have emailed the director requesting an evening class or weekend class. I just thought I would share the information with my fellow Atlanta bloggers in case any of you might be interested.

Oops missed Gratitude post day 5 so today will be day 5 and 6 together

Sorry gang, Sunday was filled with trips to Church, Piedmont Park and Taco Mac for early dinner and football so I missed day 5 of my gratitude challenge. I am going to be posting day 5 and day 6 in one post.

Day 5
I am blessed to have a big sister in my life that I love with all my heart. She is an amazing person with an amazing outlook on life. Her life however hasn't been the easiest, she has overcame all adversity and is living proof that God does answer our prayers. My sweet sister I know will always be there. Sometimes we butt heads (a lot of times) but I know it's just because we both have very strong feelings about certain things and we aren't always going to agree. My family is a very loving family and we say I love you ALL THE TIME! I am blessed beyond means to have such a loving and strong family and I am glad that that love will be carried over to Zoe. So today Kee Kee (Big Sis) I am so grateful to have you in my life to get into trouble with, laugh with, cry with, ARGUE with but most importantly love. Thanks for always just being you and never change.

Day 6

I have one Nephew and 2 Nieces that I am so thankful to have in my life. Justin who is 18 almost 19 and isn't as wonderful right now (he thinks he knows everything) and doesn't spend much time with family right now (he is all about himself...typical teenager) but we still love him dearly and I am very proud of the man he is becoming, Jessica who is 12 going on 18. I call Jessica my mini me, I swear she is me when I was that age, from the way she talks, acts, etc....just like me, then there is Madalyn (Maddy), we like to call her Mama Maddy, she adores Zoe and won't allow anyone to touch Zoe when she is around. She feeds Zoe, changes her diapers, puts her down for naps, carries her around all the time, she just truly loves Zoe. Maddy is 10 and definitely my baby sitter one of these days. All three kiddos are unique in their own way and I am so very proud of each and every one of them. I miss them so much, they live 2 hours away but I hope all of them know how special they are to me and how thankful I am that I get to watch them grow up.

Gratitude Challenge Day Four

What am I grateful for on day four, well my parents would be next in line to be thankful for. My parents have been married for 40 years, they continue to set the bar high for the rest of us. They have been a constant in my life. They are both filled with love and they have instilled that same gesture in me. They've always been there for me no matter what and trust me, there have been times when they should have turned their backs on me and I wouldn't have blamed them but they never did. They just reminded me what was the most important thing and that is Family. They have taught me to be the person I am today. I am forever grateful for their love, support, hugs, tenderness, guidance and patience throughout the years. Mom and Dad, I love you always. Thank you for being the wonderful parents that you are and nothing less.

Gratitude Challenge Day Three

My hubby, what more can I say? I am forever grateful and in love with this man. I would be completely lost without him. He makes me laugh, he's there to let me cry on his shoulder, he knows my darkest secrets, he gives heartfelt hugs, passionate kisses (I won't go any further with that haha), he is a wonderful father and a best friend all wrapped into one person. He is an optimistic person and tries to help me see the good in things always. I am a complete person with him by my side. I thank God every day for placing him "along the broken road" for me to find. He is a blessing in my life and I will forever be in love with this man. Today and always Bryan, you are my hero and I love you so very, very much!!

Am I being silly

For weeks now my husband has been trying to convince me that it is time for Zoe to be put to bed with a blanket. Zoe is 13 months old and still sleeps in a large sack. This sack is plenty big enough for her so don't think she doesn't sleep comfortably. Part of my reasoning for not switching her is that I worry she will be cold during the night since she does not know how to use a blanket. Also, I am still terrified of SIDS, even at 13 almost 14 months. What do you Mommy's do when you put your babies to sleep at night? Do you think it is time I made the switch so that hopefully by winter time she will know how to properly use a blanket? I keep telling my hubby baby steps. First we got rid of the bottles, then the switch to whole milk, then the way we put her to bed at night changed, I just now feel safe enough to let her sleep with a doll, I guess this is the next step huh? Am I being silly?

Gratitude Challenge Day Two

Today, I have to say I am utterly in love with Zoe and blessed to have her in my life. Her smile is contagious, her laugh is heart warming and I just love watching her explore and learn new things. She is growing up so fast and I can already tell what a personality she's got. I love it. She is hands down the best thing I have ever been a part of in my life. I love her more than I ever thought humanly possible. I am holding onto each day, each memory and never letting go. So Zoe G. today and always, I am grateful to have you in my life.

Whole hearted post

Recently, a very dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with MS. His symptoms came on so fast and unexpected. He has lost all mobility in his left arm, leg and experiencing problems with his left eye. This all happened within 6 days, he has progressively gotten worse, never before had symptoms, celebrating his 3rd anniversary weeding today. He is 32 years old and up until now has been a healthy person. This was so unexpected and so sad. He continues to be in good spirits while I rack my brain how I can help them. Him and his wife have pretty decent insurance but he is unable to work right now. His wife is an artist and has her art in a several galleries and she also works for her Father for a little extra income. I love both of these people dearly, they are truly wonderful people. I have been thinking about maybe hosting a fundraiser in their honor but I am completely in the dark on how to even begin this process. Do any of you dear blog readers have experience with fund raising? If so, could you tell me how to get started and what are some things I can do? I need your help now more than ever. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Need some help

Ok, how do I post a video? I have never done it before and I have the cutest video of Zoe dancing, it will melt your heart.

My baby is 13 months old today

Time is just flying right on by and miss Zoe is 13 months old today. Again, I have no pictures to post, want to know why, our cord to our camera isn't working and we have to get a new one. She hasn't changed much physically, emotionally she has become a whiny little girl here lately. Can anyone tell me what that is about? What happened to my happy go lucky baby girl. I am hoping the only reason for her fussiness is she is teething...finally. I thought for a bit that she was going to be 2 years old with 2 teeth. I say she is teething, nothing has broken through the skin but she has no ear infection, no tummy problems so the only other thing her Pediatrician could chalk it up to yesterday when I took her in AGAIN, was that she was teething. Come on, really? Anyway, I am hanging on to hope that her change in attitude is from teething and not something that is here to stay. I want my BIG smiling, kiss giving, sweet baby girl back. Anyway, baby girl, Mommy and Daddy love you bunches and bunches and wish you a happy 13 month birthday.

Sick little girl

Sorry for my absence, my poor baby woke us up at 11:45 Thursday night crying. I turned on the video monitor in time to see her projectile vomiting everywhere. This began the long night of throwing up, cleaning up, throwing up, cleaning up...you get the idea. Poor baby. I bet she went through 6 sets of PJ's. Why didn't I leave her undressed you ask? She sleeps with a sleep sack and she had thrown up on the only two sleep sacks that still fit her. Note to self...get more sleep sacks ASAP!! She has never slept with a blanket in her crib so A, not only was I afraid she would not know to cover herself up but B, I didn't want to adjust the air because I didn't want her to get too hot or cold. I guess Bryan and I are lucky though that this is her first stomach bug that we have experienced in over a year. Did we know what the heck to do, well heck no, so what did I do, I called the on call nurse at her pediatricians office. She said I was like the 10th caller with stomach bug issues...ouch!! Anyhoo, needless to say, I slept a whole hour and a half because it was pretty obvious I was going to be the one staying home from work with Zoe on Friday. Bryan slept for about 4 hours and then being the angel he is or it might have been the fact that I threatened his life, one or the other...little blurry, he let me sleep from 6:00 to 9:00, he just went into work a little later. No seriously, he knew there was no way I could function to take care of Zoe on Friday with 1:30 minutes of sleep. So anyway, off to work he goes, I'm home, he gets home that afternoon, baby girl is whining and not feeling much better but not throwing up or stinkies, we proceed to have a normal Friday night at home. Saturday rolls around and bam, guess who has the stinkies...yep that would be me, then around 6 that night, guess who starts throwing up, yep...that would be me again!! Bryan takes care of Zoe all day and night Saturday night. I felt terrible, she was crying for me and wanting her Mommy to hold her but I definitely didn't want to get her sick again or Bryan so I stayed in bed, broke my heart. Then, Bryan wakes up around 4:30 Sunday morning throwing up and stinkies!! Argh!! So, needless to say the whole Lockette clan got this wonderful stomach virus that is going around...can you detect my sarcasm? It was so bad that my Mom came to our rescue on Sunday and stayed with us until Monday. Mom, if you ever read this, we appreciate your help more than you will ever know. I have a feeling this fall/winter is going to be LLLOOONNNGGGG!! I so wish I could stay home with Zoe, it just isn't in the cards right now. Maybe with baby number two things will be different, we won't be able to afford daycare for two so we will have no choice. Anyway, I am happy to report all Lockettes are functioning at 95% and feeling a little better everyday!! Sorry for the long post and the mention of stinkies!!
