Craft project

This weekend seems like it will be a weekend stuck inside due to the weather and due to a sick husband.

Any suggestions what kind of crafty thing I can do with Zoe this weekend while we are stuck inside. She is almost 18 months so still limited a little on what we can do but any ideas you can give me would help.

Friends

I never posted from our girls night out!! We had a great time. I love these girls and miss them terribly. We had a fabulous dinner, ate way too much!!

Then we had another girls night where we went to a fabulous place called Sips and Strokes. Our creative side got to shine this night!! Our subject was a funky peacock. It was so interesting to see at least 50 different paintings of the teachers version of a funky peacock. We sipped on a mimosa or two and let our artistic abilities come out!! We had a great time. My sister, my best friend Amy and a friend of my sisters made up our group. I can't wait to go back. I love, love, love this first picture of My sister, Amy and I. Can you guess which one is my sister? Amy and I became best friends in high school. Everywhere we went people asked us were we twins. In high school hers and my hair were a lot lighter, we were the same size, same build. We look a good bit different now....we are all grown up!

4 out of 4 nights

Not sure what is going on with miss Zoe. 4 out of 4 nights this week she has decided to have play time at odd hours of the night, 12:45, 3:15 and 5:25, what gives? She is doing pretty good though with putting herself back to sleep but it still wakes us up when she is playing with her baby dolls. It cracks me up to hear her playing with her dolls just talking up a storm but you can't understand a word she is saying. It is so cute and funny maybe after the first couple of nights but it is wearing on weary Daddy and Mommy who already have to get up at the crack of dawn for work. Tell me, has anyone else gone through this stage? Is this a stage? Is it her teeth? Is it she is getting too much sleep? I just don't understand what is causing her to wake up and want to "play"!! I am glad the weekend is here. Maybe us weary parents can get some solid sleep. Hope everyone bundles up this weekend and stay inside if possible. Try not to get on the roads unless absolutely necessary. Be safe and stay warm!! Man, I now is when I wish we could use our fireplace. Thought I would leave you with a picture of my sweet happy baby!!

Lack of post

Hi my dear blog friends. It's been a while, I apologize. I have just been enjoying life and getting over a cold. I am loving every minute with baby girl. She is so much fun these days. She is talking up a storm, NO, being her favorite word right now. We were beginning to think the word YES would never be in her vocabulary but she has slowly been using the word yes the past few nights. She has been learning her colors and shapes some. I am trying to not push to much. Her daycare is wonderful, they have been working on animals and counting to 10 with her.

Zoe and I went to Monkey Joes last weekend on a Mommy/daughter date and had a blast. For those of you who don't have a Monkey Joes, let me paint a picture for you....think tons of kids, lots of inflatable bouncy houses/slides, balloons, rides and lots of yummy kiddie food. Zoe is still so little (she is tiny for her age) so I got to go down the slides with her and bounce in the bouncy houses with her, oh so much fun. What an experience with my daughter. By the time we left, I was one soaking wet from sweat Mama. She and I got out of the house while Daddy painted in the house. That's right folks, we moved the gate that we had up to keep Zoe in our living room. We figured it is time she got to explore the house. We now have the gate at the top of our stairs (stairs going down to front entrance). We have outlet covers on every outlet, latches on all cabinets, we are lacking the safety knobs to go on the stove (Zoe loves to try and turn these GAS oven knobs) and we still need to get the safety knobs to go on the doors so that she can't get the door opened to outside. We are hoping to get these done this weekend....IF IT DOESN'T SNOW OR ICE!!! . I hope it doesn't but the weather is calling for a chance of this, oh joy!! Anyway, Zoe is having so much fun exploring and we are having fun watching/following her all over the house. If the weather isn't bad we are going back to Monkey Joes this weekend with Daddy. He missed out on the fun so we must go back...for his sake!!!

I will post some new pictures soon. Zoe will be 18 months on February 3rd. She is getting to be such a big girl. I am loving watching her everyday, something new with her everyday.

As far as Weight Watchers and me, yea, not doing so good. I have good days and bad but here lately the bad outweighs the good...shame on me. I do ok during the week but the weekends are killing me. I am aiming to do better this weekend. My problem is that I am scheduled to have my wisdom teeth out next Thursday so in my mind I am thinking I should splurge this weekend and eat/drink what I want. Hey, I'm sure I will lose some weight just because I won't be able to eat a whole lot for several days....I know, bad way to lose weight but hey, I'll take it any way I can!!

What about you guys, are you dieting, if so, what is working for you?

Zoe's first boo boo, since she has been running

Now Zoe has the walking thing mastered, now we are onto running. Bryan's parents stayed with her Monday while school was closed so that Bryan and I could work. It was absolutely gorgeous that day so they took her outside to ride in her red wagon (post pictures once I have them downloaded). She rode in her wagon for a good 30-45 minutes. They decided to get her out and let her walk around a bit. Before they knew it and even have time to react she took off running....ON CONCRETE and did a Pete Rose....ON THE CONCRETE. Poor baby she had a pretty good boo boo on her forehead, nose and hands. I know it is the first of many, many boo boo's to come, it just broke my heart that I wasn't there to console her. Her Nana was almost in tears explaining to me what happened when I got home from work that day. I am prepared though, we have neosporin always handy, hello kitty band aids, a little bunny ice pack, we are prepared!! Is my heart prepared, nope probably not, are you ever really prepared? Here is a picture of Zoe in her red wagon. This is an older picture so this picture doesn't show her boo boo. I will post her boo boo soon although it's had a few days to heal so it's not bad anymore.

So onto something different. We are beginning to prepare to list our condo AGAIN, for the third time....hopefully third time is a charm. One way or another we will not be in the condo by next Christmas, whether we sell it or rent it out. Please, please keep us in your prayers as we are busting out at the seems and we are so ready to have our family grow. We are painting the whole house neutral colors, we've rented a storage unit to clean out the condo to bare essentials that we need to live day to day. This makes me sad because that means for the next three months, most of Zoe's toys will be in storage. Of course we will leave out a few toys that can be stored away but her bouncing pony, gum ball pit, kitchen and slide (bigger toys) will have to go in storage. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. Here are some of the outdoor pictures of our community.

Quick Update

I am just working away, trying to make it to Friday. Just wanted to give a quick update on the Weight Watchers front, so far, I have lost 1.7 lbs, not great but I haven't eaten that great either, just cut out some key items. Now, I just need to keep it up. I've come to the conclusion that I am not going to follow Weight Watchers by the book, I am going to cheat and have that slice of pizza, half glass of wine, grilled cheese sandwich or Pop Tart, but if I only cheat once a day and eat healthier the other two meals of the day, I should still lose weight, just not as quickly. I am still going to post a picture soon, have you all not noticed I am a procrastinator....just like my Mom, who I swore that I would never be like...ha ha, love you Mom. Here is a picture of me now. I know it doesn't show me full length but maybe and hopefully when I post a later picture you will be able to tell that I have lost weight in my face.

Weekly points

Woo hoo, I made it through week 1 Weight Watchers with 25 weekly points left to use sparingly this weekend. It's a good thing to because I am going to dinner Saturday night with the girls!! I will be interested to see if I have lost any weight when I weigh myself on Sunday. I've only cheated a time or two....ok more like 3 times. I can't give up potato chips cold turkey can I and Dr.Pepper, that is just insane!! Is anyone else dieting right now? If so, what works for you? I am going to take a before picture of myself tonight and I will post a new picture each week so you can follow along on my mission with me. Have a great weekend to all!!

Weight Watchers + Me

Weight Watchers and I are now new friends. I joined yesterday and my target goal is to lose 10 lbs. This coming from a girl who loves her some Pizza Hut pizza, Wendy's cheeseburger, McDonald's french fries and Steak and Shake milkshakes. Ok, so those are my favorite things to eat when we eat out which normally is only on the weekends. We do really good during the week, cooking each night. Today I've had Pop Tarts for breakfast (this will be the hardest time for me to eat better), 4pts, for lunch I ate a Thomas Original english muffin with turkey bacon and cheese + jello snack cup, 10pts, that only leaves me 5 pts for tonight.....hhhmmmm, wonder what I can eat that is under 5 points?

DID I MENTION TO YOU GUYS THAT I AM STARVING!!! I actually kind of started this last Wednesday but I am really serious now. Time to buckle down. Wish me luck.

Getting Prepared

Oh no, today is the day that I am having x-rays taken of my wisdom teeth, yuck and yes, I still have my wisdom teeth. Today is another step closer to having them removed finally. I am definitely not looking forward to having this procedure done in the least little bit. Anyone of you had your wisdom teeth taken out while you were in your 30's? I hear it's worse the older you are.

As far as Zoe, man those top teeth coming in are killing her, poor baby. Her hands are raw from chewing on them. She is the first kid I have ever met that would not take or did not love a cold teething ring. She was pitiful last night until the Tylenol kicked in. She has slept through the night 2 nights in a row....woo hoo. We have had a tough month or so. She has been waking up almost every night and frequently. I think part of it is her teeth but also along the way she has become somewhat spoiled. She knows she can wake up and scream and Mommy/Daddy will come running. I've tried to let her "cry it out" for 20 minutes tops, that is all I can bare. I mean if she hasn't gone back to sleep after 20 minutes I think that is long enough to allow her to cry. Am I just a softy?

My best friend from high school (she was also my college roomate), my sister, another friend and my brother in-law are coming to stay with us Saturday. It is my best friend's birthday and us girls are going out to celebrate. I am excited. This will only be my 2nd girls night in almost 2 years. This will be a much needed break although I will miss my little stinker. I am trying to decide where to take her to dinner, any suggestions from my Atlanta friends? She wants to go to Cheesecake Factory for desert but I am not a fan of their dinner so we will eat elsewhere and go to Cheesecake Factory for desert.

Here is a picture of my best friend and I at my bachelorette party 6 years ago. Look how young we look. My how time flies!! Well time to get busy, busy!! Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

Snow Day!!

Yippee for snow day, boo for having to take a day off from work already. Zoe's daycare is closed for the day due to the snow and ice. We are hunkered down and watching Fresh Beat of course. I may just stay in my pjs all day. Hope everyone is bundled up and staying warm. Have a great weekend.

I'M BACK

Hey Everyone, I'm finally back. Actually I've been back but I should say I finally got all of our Christmas pictures downloaded, yippee!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year, I know the Lockette Family did! In a way I am so glad it is over, I can rest now but at the same time I'm sad, sad that the Holidays came and went so fast. I've had the past two weeks off and I've been with Zoe everyday for two weeks. It is back to work tomorrow and Zoe starts a new daycare tomorrow. I have butterflies in my tummy. I am so worried and I hope and pray I am making the right decision to move her to a different daycare. I don't deal with change very well. I moved her for a reason though and I just have to believe in my heart it is for the better.
We had so much fun with her over the Holidays. We had to celebrate "our" Christmas with her on Tuesday the 22nd but it's ok, she is still too young to realize. We celebrated early with her because we left that same day to travel t my parents for Christmas. We left my parents home Christmas Eve night and traveled to Bryan's parents. This was not a fun trip, it rained like cats and dogs and was super windy the whole way but we made it. We got to Bryan's parents house around 9 that night and miss Zoe was wound up. I think we finally got her in bed at 11:58, we were pooped. We celebrated Christmas morning at Bryan's Grandmother's. This is always such a nice time. He has such a wonderful family. I think you guys have heard me say before how blessed I am to have such wonderful extended family.
Zoe rode on the 4 wheeler with Bryan's Dad, we bundled up and played outside, we had a great time.
New Years Eve, we spent the night with our friends and there were 2 new babies + Zoe and 5 couples who rang in the New Year together. The babies and Zoe were in bed by 10-10:30 though. We celebrated New Years Day watching our Auburn Tigers barely beat Northwestern but hey, a win is a win...GO TIGERS!! We ate collard greens, black eyed peas, cornbread and a smoked turkey from our friend's Green Egg, it was so yummy, although I must admit, I only ate two bites of black eyed peas, they just aren't for me but I figured I needed a little good luck for 2010 so I managed to get down 2 spoonfuls. We had our friends little girl's 1st birthday party, yeah, Happy Birthday Malena! She looked just precious.

We bought Zoe a potty tonight and some pull ups, ok, now comes the advice from you guys because honestly, I don't have a clue what to do. I know she brought that potty around everywhere with her tonight and just said tee tee all night. When we tried to take the potty away she would start screaming. I couldn't help but laugh but now I am laughing at myself because I just don't know where to begin. I would love some pointers from you Mommies who have gone through this...Kristine/Stephanie!!! LOL

That's a quick catch up of what has been going on. I will leave you with many, many, many pictures. I am glad to be back and can't wait to catch up with everyone. I hope we all have a blessed, happy and healthy 2010. Be prepared for so many pictures, just warning you.
