Swine Flu + me = Scared

Is anyone else afraid of this Swine Flu epidemic? I mean, it is on every news channel, radio stations are talking about it and I am starting to get scared. I'm not worried about me but I am however worried about Zoe. I have her scheduled for the regular flu shot in September but that won't cover the swine flu. I have taken a container of sanitizing wipes to school, they haven't used them yet that I know of, the container is still sitting where I left it. I am going to take a bottle of soap so that the teachers can wash the kids hands but what else can I do? I've asked the director what their plans are for the upcoming flu season and they have no real plan of action that I am aware of other than trying to keep toys, door knobs, etc sanitized and washing hands. Anyway, I am a worry wart as it is and the media is not helping, constantly saying that 30-50% will be infected with the Swine Flu this season. There has been confirmed cases in Auburn now where I am from and where my family all still live. My nephew and nieces all attend school in that area and all played with Zoe this weekend when she spent the weekend with my sister, scary. We will be in Auburn next weekend too. Am I being silly to worry, is there anything else I can do to try and prevent Zoe from getting this flu? Let me know your opinion.

We survived

Yes we did, We survived!! Woo Hoo
We survived Zoe's 1st birthday party. We survived the placing of tubes in Zoe's ears. We survived her 12 month check up with a good report and we even survived having to go BACK to her pediatrician to get her dreaded immunizations. We had to separate those visits because her tube placement was scheduled for 2 days before her 12 month checkup and her Ped. didn't want to give her shots before they put her tubes in her ears. So we had to split the appointments. Oh well, main thing is we survived!! We have one more event in August (Our Anniversary) trip!! Maybe we'll get a little R&R in while away. It will be Bryan and my first trip away since miss priss was born so it will be nice as long as a hurricane doesn't hit Florida. For those of you who don't know me, I am absolutely 100% terrified of bad weather. I guess living in GA so long I get scared when it rains heavily and the wind blows because I know most of the time this type of weather leads to hail, wind damage and possibility of tornadoes. I pray for my sanity on this trip. I pray that I can keep from stressing about the weather, about Zoe, about my weight, about getting in a swim suit again, about being away from Zoe and whatever in the world else I can find to stress about for at least 72 hours...that is my goal. I hope to catch up on some much needed sleep, get some much needed color to my pale skin (not too much though) and enjoy some much needed alone time with my sweet hubby. We are celebrating 6 wonderful years of marriage and 9 wonderful years together. I have come to the conclusion that it may be a month before I post birthday pictures. I just haven't had a chance to sit down and even look at her pictures from her party yet. We have been getting home later since school is back in session and traffic is 10 times worse. Have I ever mentioned how much I despise Atlanta traffic. I will be so happy if we can ever get out of this place. Hey, a girl can dream right!! Anyway, enough rambling. This will probably be my last post until next week other than my weight loss post!! Right side girls (Stones in the River) if you are reading this, I promise to be a better team member next week and kick some exercising butt!! Keep up the good work girls and lets lose those pounds! I hope everyone has a blessed and happy weekend!!
Tootles!!

Zoe's birthday, check up and tube surgery

Ok, so I still haven't posted pictures from Zoe's first birthday party, this is unheard of for me. There has just been so much going on and I have not been feeling well the past 5 days. Hopefully I will get those posted this weekend. Miss thing had her wellness check up and everything went well. She had her tubes put in her ears on Wednesday and like everyone had told me, it went so quickly. The hardest part was watching my baby waking up from the anesthesia. I am so glad that is behind us and I hope she starts to feel so much better. I am now sick, I think I may have strep throat or some kind of viral thing going on. I am glad I have the weekend to get better. I will post more soon, I promise.

Getting to know the Hubs and I

I always post about Zoe because well to be honest, this blog is about her. I started blogging to communicate with other Mommies going through parenthood. I have no family that blogs, although I have tried to convince them to start blogging. I think part of me just loves typing what I am going through at that particular time or keeping notes about my baby girl. Anyway, I thought today being Friday and all (Woo hoo) that I would post some pictures and write a little about Bryan and I. On August 23rd we will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary but we've been together for 9 years. He is the most amazing person I have ever known. He is the most humble, laid back, sweet, generous and loving person you will ever meet. I'm not kidding. I've never heard the kid talk bad about anyone and everyone he meets gravitates to him. He is just an amazing husband and Father, Zoe absolutely adores him. She is definitely going to be a Daddy's girl. Me, I am tender hearted, caring, high strung (hey I am working on this), and I love to laugh. I think laughter is the cure for absolutely everything!! I get my feelings hurt really easily although the older I have gotten the less this is the case. I try not to let other people's opinions bother me nor let people walk all over me. I try to lead a good christian life. I get really stressed when I know I have to be somewhere or I know we are going to have company. I am a cleaning maniac when this happens and I become a different person. I guess my Mom really instilled in me that when you have company, you should have a spotless house....jeeze, thanks Mom! LOL, Bryan balances me out and keeps me sane. We are a good match together. I only hope as time goes on that I can learn how to balance him and Zoe, giving both the attention they deserve. They are my life and I love them more than anything. I know I am rambling, just wanted to give a little insight to our lives. The pictures I am posting aren't current, we don't take pictures of "us" anymore, most pictures are of Zoe. The pictures aren't that far off though. Hope you enjoy.

My precious Zoe....My 1st Birthday letter to you!!

Zoe Zoe,

I can't believe that you are one years old today. It seems like just yesterday that I was carrying you in my belly, anxiously awaiting your arrival. This past year has been filled with so much love, happiness, anxiety, excitement, encouragement, stress and pride. This past year has been a roller coaster of emotions but I would not change a thing about it. You are my first and only baby, my precious Zoe Gracyn so along with those emotions came the joy of learning and exploring. Learning how to hold and swaddle you, learning how to dress you (your Daddy and I are pros now) but it was funny in the beginning, learning how to feed you (I am still struggling with this), learning how to burp you (you were a hard baby to burp), learning how to change your diapers, learning how to size you for clothes (you are still not current size with current age), learning your nap and sleeping schedules, learning how to make your bottles and I could just go on and on. The theme for this past year with you has been "Learning". Again, I wouldn't change a thing. It has been the best year of my entire life. As I sit here today writing you this letter, I am somewhat sad because you are growing up so quickly; I want you to stay my baby forever but at the same time, I am super excited to watch you grow. I am so happy that I get to be a part of your life and help guide you through this crazy thing called life. I hope and pray that I can be the absolute best Mother to you and raise you to be an honest, simple, caring and all around good person. It is a guarantee that I am going to make mistakes along the way but it is my hope those mistakes are never too big that they can't be fixed and I hope that I learn from them so that I never make them again. Zoe, you are my sweet baby girl. I am forever changed because of you, for the better. You have touched my heart and soul in a way that I never believed possible. It is utterly impossible to ever, ever explain to you how much I love you. My heart is filled with happiness. My heart has always been saving a special place just for you baby girl. I am complete. You and Daddy, make me complete. You are such a beautiful baby girl. Your Daddy nor I could ever ask for a happier, healthier baby than you. You have brought us such joy and amazement. We are truly blessed to have you as a part of our family. My prayer for you my dear Zoe is that you grow up with the wisdom to make wise decisions, that you have a heart the size of Texas and bigger, that you know without a doubt everyday that you are loved. that you know our Lord Jesus Christ, that you allow him to come into your heart and that your faith in him or us never waivers. I pray that you grow up happy, I pray that you trust your Dad and I to guide you to be the best person you can be, I pray that you know we will never, ever leave your side through the good times or the bad times. We will always be here for you, no matter what. Some of the things you are doing now that are so cute. You are standing on your own now, standing on your own without having to pull yourself up. You are taking several steps. You do so good when you take your time and seem to concentrate but if you get excited you dive head first into the ground. No boo boos yet but I am sure they are coming...grace!! You are absolutely precious to watch. I could sit and watch you every minute of the day. You will be walking any day now. You are an ok eater. You frustrate me at dinner time because I want you to try so much but you hate eating dinner, you are normally very fussy at this time of the night. I don't know your measurements or your weight yet because your 12 month checkup got pushed back due to your tubes getting placed in your ears. That is another thing, you have had ear infection after ear infection...poor baby, I hope the tubes fix you right up. The words you are saying right now or seem to be saying I should say are "thank you", "hi", "uh oh", "bye", "duck", "ball", it is possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. You are just a bundle of joy and your Daddy and I are so very proud of you baby girl. You are our own sunshine and you shine every day in our eyes. We can't wait to watch the person you become. We are blessed to be your parents. We love you with all of our heart and souls, Zoe G.

Happy 1st, Birthday

Love Always, Mommy

Whirlwind

Wow, the next 4 days are going to be hectic but I am sooo excited. Tomorrow my Mom, sister and nieces will be here to help me decorate for Zoe's party, then tomorrow night we are off to see Rascal Flatts in concert...I'm pumped. I love them but I am not liking the weather forcast...rain, rain and more rain at an outdoor concert venue, yuck.
Saturday is my baby's 1st birthday party. Trust me I will post tons of picks and letter to my baby soon after the party.
Sunday I am hosting a baby shower for a dear friend of mine who is expecting a little boy in September.
Monday is Zoe's 1 year pictures as long as the weather cooperates as the pictures are outdoors.
Tuesday back to work. No rest for the weary!!
Stay tuned for all of the updates. I probably won't post for a few days but wish me luck that I can hold it together Saturday for Zoe's party and not be an emotional wreck because my baby is growing up way too fast! Ha
Lots of love blog buddies and have a fabulous weekend!
